About
I am looking for motivated and technically strong PhD students to join. XD Lab aims at promoting deep integration of space engineering and artificial intelligence and pushing limit on space engineering methodology innovation for efficient and sustainable anthropogenic space development. If you are interested in Space, Dynamics, Mission Design and AI, please feel free to fill out the recruiting form and shoot me an email.
Di Wu received his PhD from UC San Diego advised by Aaron Rosengren and worked as a Postdoc in MIT advised by Richard Linares. His research is positioned at the intersection of the rapidly proliferating field of space engineering, the continuous growth of machine learning and artificial intelligence, and the solid foundations in computation, numerical methods, optimization, dynamics, and control, with the application in learning and autonomy in orbit environment and space systems.
Research Interests
- Efficient Space System
Efficiency is increasingly critical in space system design, operation, and research. We innovate in key areas as Numerical Methods (Koopman Operator), Feature Generations (Proper Elements), Dynamical System (Chaos and Manifold Dynamics), and improve Space Sustainability and enable Space System Design. - Space AI+
Artificial Intelligence built for Space offers substantial potential for all space application. We innovate in key areas of GAI application in Space, providing PSA (problem set astrodynamics) Benchmark for LLM, develop reinforcement agent exploring space launching policy, building blocks towards a balanced Space AI+. - ASI
We innovate in ASI (Anthropology-Space Interaction), the study of how humans interact with space, and what are the socio-economical impact of such interaction, and the influence on science and technology systematically.
